A comparison I can't wait for...

...Because that's the GTI I have ordered ;)

Review coming in a couple of weeks, mentions it at the end of the video, PP with DSG. Damn this A45 AMG is unbelievably fast.

I bet it goes something like. Amg too hard, poor ride,  but very fast. GTI better alrounder better ride.

Sorry for me it's like the BMW, all go no doubt, but just plain ugly. Don't like the A class one bit inside or out.

That is a monster of a hatch. But at 35k ish it's not comparable to the GTI, more the 135i.

Went to Audi BMW Lexus Ford VW and Mercedes dealers and had good look at all cars in my range and the Mercedes dealer was one I left quickest as really dislike the A class - Claustrophobic interior with such high doors and narrow windows and that media screen?

Not much use a car being super quick if handling and ride are average to poor as in the day to day driving being a second slower but with great ride and handling means a whole lot more - One thing I am really looking forward to is improved ride! S Line suspension is a major irritant now.

An interesting comparison I'm looking forward to seeing & reading. Without sounding negative though I think the GTi has bitten off more than it can chew in terms of outright performance.... The GTi's 179bhp/ton is no match for either the Merc's 228bhp/ton or BMW's 219bhp/ton.

However I'm sure off the track & in real world terms the performance difference isn't going to be that 'huge'... Knowing how these reviews work I'm guessing the BMW will be the ultimate winner. The Merc is far too expensive on the one hand whilst the GTi won't be exciting enough. The M-lite thus sits nicely in the middle.. How predictable is that?

That's exactly how it will end up. The 135 is a car journalists wet dream just now. Completely unfair to put the GTI up against these two, a fairer comparison would be the new R up against these two whenever it appears

Or the new Audi S3 come to think of it...for the GTi to be pitted against the M-lite & A45 AMG is quite a compliment nonetheless.... Just proves how good it is to be even considered in this company.

The A Class has a very cheap feel about it, and I'll be honest it looks pretty naff too, a bit too Kia/Hyundai for my liking, the grill on the high end version is its only redeeming feature to my eyes. As for this bahnstorming version, I'm not quite sure who will buy it?
Cancelled GTI, M135i beast mode.
