I can't make my mind up whether I hate it or love it looks wise. It's certainly bold!!!

Autocar did a recent test of the Ford Fiesta ST v Peugeot 208 GTI v Renault Clio RS 200 Turbo, which are more its rivals and it came last by a long way.

Exactly!

A lot of buyers in the hot hatch segment will go more on a cars dynamics than its size. Hence why the BINI JCW and Golf get labelled as rivals.
It'd just be nice from a historical point to see how much the Golf has overhauled its old French rival in driving dynamics.

The Clio is an outright Scirocco clone - it has grown a lot since it's last incarnation.
Whey ya bugger! It's finally arrived after an 8 month wait....
