I decided that after reading up on both consoles, come release I plan to upgrade my PC instead! It's faster than both the consoles and has most of the advantages and few of the drawbacks

Intresting read. The whole 24 hour thing is starting to make some sence, like he said with the ipad as an example, yh you don't have to connect an ipad to the Internet every day but there pritty dull if never connected. And this cloud gaming sounds very promising, but my only worry is how will games react/suffer if connection is lost mid game.

Xbox rules.

Enough said

On a more serious note. I think everyone grew up with playstation and loved it before xbox v1 came out. Sony made one of the worst business mistakes ever, which in my view was releasing the ps3 near a year after the 360 (Sony owned the gaming sector!). This in turn led to a large proportion of gamers moved to the 360 as it was next gen. Would MS still be on par with Sony if the ps3 was released earlier?

I can still remember turning on my xbox 360 for the first time and seeing the magnificent wonder on the screen of which my eyes had not bestowed upon before.

However, it feels more now in this day and age as market gimmicks and pr polishing. I mean seriously, how many frigging versions of the xbox 360 do you need??

However, getting back to the op's question...xbox one as I am nicely settled with the 360now. Xbox live is superior service compared to the sony network. Kinect is totally awesome.

Please don't think, I am a xbox fan boy lol. Like I said, I have grew up my earlier years with playstation, even had ps3 for a few years with my 360, but the blueray drive went.

I would honestly say, I would had been in love with the ps3 if it had came out before the 360, but it didn't.

I think hardware terms wise, the human eye is not going to see much different between the one and ps4, so I wouldn't worry about it

I would stick to what you like

Thanks

Does this apply for Europe aswell?

PS4 sold out on Amazon.

PS4 outselling xbox one by 2:1

95% of people polled are getting a PS4.  (40,00 people poll)

"In talking to a developer who wished to remain anonymous, gamers will see a difference on Day One when they compare third party PS4 games to Xbox One head-to-head. The developer told me the PS4 is 40 percent more powerful than Xbox One and games like Call of Duty Ghosts will be noticeably different out of the gate."

"But if this differentiator holds true, not only will Xbox One games have DRM issues and no rental options and limited used game opportunities, the games won’t look as good as PS4 titles. That sounds like a perfect storm of negativity for the hardcore gamers."

"This processing power issue also could be a potential reason behind the latest controversy that has emerged for Microsoft at E3, in which photos were taken of some Xbox One games running on Windows 7 PCs with NVIDIA graphics cards. Sony PS4 developers took to Twitter saying PS4 demos were running on PS4 dev kits. I know playing PS4 games behind closed doors that the PS4 was clearly visible as I played."

BOOM! headshot.

It does. It started earlier this month with Fable 3. July is Halo 3 and Assassin's Creed 3 (I think).

PS4 games look like animation fantasy?
XBOX games look realistic and firmer details?
Guess it depends on the type of gamer?

cool shady good to know seems to be a 100 diff in price but the free games work out as my kid could get 10 free games in 12months.

It's an £80 difference.  When you think about it £80 isn't much when you're making an investment in something you will probably be using for 5+ years.

The free games are only downloads for the 360 and won't be able to be transferred over to the One.

The difference in graphics is all speculation as various developers are saying different things at the moment. Hideo Kojima (Metal Gear Solid) has come out and said the difference in minimal at best. And it goes back to how developers end up using the hardware. Look at the PS3 vs. 360. PS3 was undoubtedly the superior console on paper, but in reality it never amounted to much. 360 games still looked fantastic for their time. The benefit the One has this time round is allowing developers to offload certain tasks to the Cloud rather than making the CPU calculate them, thus making breathing room for the CPU/GPU to focus on the more intense tasks (making the games look better).

At the end of the day, until we have the consoles in our hands we can't really say much.
