At last, progress! Just checked the order tracker and finally my car is in transit!!!

The long wait is almost over, now I am excited again!

Don't want to p1ss on your parade, but mine enters week 5 of being 'In Transit' today

Apparently due to my 1st week in April order, I'm getting 'priority' delivery! (Yeah right, I believe you VW UK) Would hate to know what standard delivery is then.

Is yours in the UK yet GtG? Proximity of dealership to port can have a big bearing on how long it takes to get to the dealership from the port, and which port it comes to (some are busier than others - i'd expect Tyne to be the quietest).

Mine cleared customs 24 hours from arrival at dock. The main reason i've been given that my car wasn't collected from the dock by the dealership as part of the "priority shipping" is that standard transporter delivery to my dealership from dock by VW UK is generally done within 4 working days (due to proximity to port - 8 miles).

The same car on the same ship to Tyne, but going up to a Scottish dealership can expect a longer wait for VW UK delivery from the port. I'm sure same can be said of any dealership close to Grimsby or Sheerness getting delivery quicker than destinations further inland.
Whey ya bugger! It's finally arrived after an 8 month wait....

Mine has been in the UK since last Saturday.

Do we believe this whole 'Priority thing?' I'm not sure I do, I certainly haven't seen anything positive from it. Wondering if should be on the 'Things VW say list'. To be fair I don't think there can be many dealers in the south further away from Sheerness to mine. I notice in the expanded detail on the VW tracking page it now says it can take 14 days to deliver to the dealer, sometimes longer... Clear as mud as always.

Interestingly, the 'Emden' vessel is due into Sheerness this evening from Emden, and the 'Shelde Highway' has just left Emden on its way to Grimsby. Hopefully some of our cars will be on these boats, I'm particularly interested in the Sheerness arrival for obvious reasons!

Fingers crossed....

And for those speculating on priority shipping, apart from MH's treatment, it's a load of old sh1te - it'll turn up as normal - I was promised this too and mine was at Emden for 7 days (hopefully its left now but I can't be sure of that, particularly as the tracker won't update till tomorrow).

Mine has definitely left (according to the dealers system).. thus my concern about that bridge pile up! I would hope if that was a factor the dealer or myself would have been informed. Will try and kick some a55 tomorrow...

Not even sure if I even got priority shipping - maybe mine was always headed on the boat it got on anyway (maybe there was plenty of room on mine). I'd expect cars to be waiting at Emden for less time now than they would've been a month ago, when making it for Sept 1st delivery was a possibility. I'd guess (or should that be deduce?) that the Sept rush has mostly been fufilled now for the standard VWs and other cars in general.

Yeah mine was at Emden 3 weeks.

September 1st was the promised delivery date (well after the July 1st original!)

Apparently a load of transporters take cars for certain parts of the south to Portsmouth, where they can sometimes sit waiting for a smaller transporter to take them to individual dealers or boats to the Channel Islands. Hopefully mine is sat there (and hopefully not for long).

Has the "in transit" tracking status updated to 10 days for yours yet MB? If not updated to that overnight from the ship leaving Emden, it'll probably not be on it. My tracking didn't update anywhere near "real time" for it to be on a ship, it updated overnight following the ship setting sail.

No it hasn't, which is why I'm not hopeful it's on that ship. If it doesn't change to 10 days overnight tonight then it's definitely not on the boat, which will p1ss me off but there's nowt I can do about it!
