CraigW: It probably arrived on the evening of the 15th on the "City of Sunderland", but didn't officially "arrive" until it has passed through customs and then the VW UK red tape that my dealership bypassed at considerable effort for my dad's GTD. It will be cleared for delivery to the dealership now.

Ah thanks mate, how long in general could you expect it to take from arriving in the UK to you actually collecting it? Hopefully mine will be on the ship this Saturday. That would be brilliant !

That's great news, Craig! VW told me that mine had landed in the UK but this still isn't showing on the tracker . My dealer said that it can take anything from 2 days to 2 weeks before it will arrive on a transporter and that he won't know until the day before until it is coming.  We're starting to get excited now, Craig!

I thought you said the tracker had changed to arrived in the UK? If so it won't be on the ship on Saturday. If it is here in the UK and is waiting on dealership delivery - anything from 2 days to a week is possible.
Whey ya bugger! It's finally arrived after an 8 month wait....

He's talking about two different cars mate.  The one he spied on has arrived.  His is still "in transit".

Yes definitely getting excited Iain. The dealer told me I could possibly have before the end of this month but if it goes into the beginning of August that would still be great, especially considering some of the horror stories on here about delivery times. I certainly cannot complain

So Craigw orders his 5 weeks after me from same dealership, ( mine in Merylee) and his is in transit, and mine won't be built for a fortnight .

Strange allocation system.

Perhaps you'd like to lend me yours till mine arrives in September.
