Joet - when did yours move to 'In Transit'?  Mine did a week last Monday and still doesn't seem to have 'arrive in the UK'.  I wonder if they are sometimes in the UK a while before the tracker shows it?

Mine moved to 'in transit' on 24th June. In fact it still showing that. Seems like it's not updated in real time.

By the way - it's arrived in Sheerness, not Skegness

I was gonna say ... Skeggie has lots of things (let's not go there, physically or metaphorically) but a commercial port is not one of them
Arrived: GTI, DSG, 5 Door, Carbon Steel Grey, Service Plan, Winter Pack, Side Airbag, DCC (or ACC - the Adaptive Chassis thing, ok?), Park Assist, Rear View Camera

I had a build week 28 and to my delight and surprise when I called on the Monday of that week I was told my car was in transit and yesterday it arrived in Emden. I now have a VIN and wonder if anyone knows if there is any way to track loading and journey to UK using the VIN and order number?

If you're a dealer you can. For Joe Public? Nope.
Whey ya bugger! It's finally arrived after an 8 month wait....

I don't think there is anyway of tracking unfortunately. Mine was built in WK 27 and I have no idea when it will be shipped over. The next ship leaving Emden to the Port of Tyne is this Saturday but I don't expect me car to be on it to be honest.

I've been snooping on another GTI on the website and it's been sitting in transit for 3.5 weeks now. This is my 2nd week in transit so maybe another 2 weeks before it is actually shipped across?

That's totally crazy. My Merc arrived on a Monday and I had it by the Thursday of that week. I just don't understand how VW is so inefficient.

My dad's sat dockside for about 6 days, missing 2 ships that arrived and went in the time it was sat at Emden port before the 3rd picked it up. Getting to Emden via the train is very efficient - it was there within 18 hours of being signed off at the plant. Unless there is a serious backlog of VWs sitting at portside and waiting for a ship, i'd say yours will be on the Saturday ship or the one after.

What do you know, the car I'm snooping on has just changed status to arrived in the UK this morning. Strange, given that no ships were due in until Saturday

CraigW: It probably arrived on the evening of the 15th on the "City of Sunderland", but didn't officially "arrive" until it has passed through customs and then the VW UK red tape that my dealership bypassed at considerable effort for my dad's GTD. It will be cleared for delivery to the dealership now.
