no noise ?
« on: 31 May 2013, 15:01 »
I've received my forge diverter valve today and it's fully functioning with green spring inside.
I've put the dv on all pipes and it's sitting snug and tight with everything done up as it should be.
However, when changing gears and even revving th car, there's no noise (tsshhh).

The engine code is agu (1999)

Can anybody tell me why it's not making the noise as when it's dumping air

its a recirculating d/v the forge so sends the air back into the system not like an atmospheric 1

I smoothed my airbox and drilled the right hand top corner and fitted a green panel and ran a forge tip.

Gave a really loud pshhhh noise :-) :-) sounded like an atmospheric

Ok, so what's my beat way to get the noise ? I've got a cone filter that was given to me , it was used on a vectra 24v.  Would it be any good for ny car it's a bit dirty at the moment but could be cleaned up. It's got some outer plastic cone around it aswell

You will get more of a dumping noise with it being an open filter, but unless you get a proper heat shield you will start to suck in hot air which will result in less power

As above, you need a upgraded filter of some sort.
Most noise comes from at open cone with a cai
But just get a panel filer and cold air feed and you should be satisfied.

He brought it up to me and I checked all his pipes and everything is how it should be. Just for good measure I even fitted my DV (007p) because I know mine makes the noise and nothing at all not even a peep. I'm abit confused for him as for a test we undid the air box so it would act as if its an open air and it still didn't make a peep yet my car (AUM) with my RAMAIR fitted makes quite a loud tsssssh.

No leaks codes when scanned.  But his car does feel slower than mine but I put that down to I have changed every pipe to silicone on mine and I have the KO3s but I think he has the KO3
