Why didn't you listen!    :undecided:

Do you have any pictures? As this needs to be made well aware of so people don't do the same thing.

Give the engine a good overhaul and part depends on power you are looking for
Rods with new bearings gasket set bolts crank bearing maybe rebuild the head.
Bigger turbo injectors fuel pump etc
The list is endless.
Plenty of Info if you search for it.

well a rebuild isn't going to work,   1st on the list would be an engine
all the VW's have gone bar 1.

poor lad blows his engine and you lot want pictures

here's one that let go in style

if 3k is your limit, forget upgrades if you need a new block anyway.. find a complete bam (225bhp) engine, loom and ecu. leon cupra r downpipe, big TIP and remap. 270+bhp and you can still add bits at a later date to go over the magical 300bhp barrier

Topher can I ask why you specifically mention the BAM?

A complete AMK can be had a lot cheaper than the BAM  and is essentially the same lump.

They are all the same lump apart from the Turbos etc
Main difference is you can pick up a aum for £350 and a bam for a £1000 haha

bam will be a newer engine, no real reason other than that. depends how much cheaper! i reckon you'd find a complete lowish mileage setup for 2 grand, with change left for the downpipe, a fuel pump and whatever other bits might be needed along the way. far less of a headache than trying to get similar power figures from an aum

Yeah, that makes sense,

Only thing is people seem to go crazy for the BAM and over price the ruddy things,
The AMK's seem to go for far less due to it not being a BAM, lol

What is a WOTBOX and this flat shifting?

What happened in that picture? The crank snap and piston push through the block? I don't follow  :embarrassed:

OP - Sorry to hear this. With £3k you could go, so go big or go S3.
