At least there's something left of your outer arch...mine fine fell to pieces when I took off the arch trim. At least it made rolling what was left of it flat pretty easy. Quick bit of hammerite and stuck the trim back on. Will get round to sorting it properly one day!

PS Where abouts in Wiltshire are you? If you're handy with a welder I could do with some help patching my sills...

Not far from you!

Good luck with that welding mate!
If that is what one arch looks like you can bet the others are the same!

I'm only in Trowbridge Callum. I work in Bath though! I haven't done a great deal of welding before (only little bits and pieces here and there) but I have all the kit, and now I have something to practice on! Would be happy to help you out once i'm happy with what I can do

Len I don't know if you saw it but I already have a different wing fitted on the n/s as it fell apart driving down the A303 last year  so yeah you're probably right! The n/s rear wheel well is in much better condition however, or at least where I can see!

Thank you that would be great! I've never done any welding and would really like to learn but it's all a bit daunting!
As for the arches, I found my OS rear was an anomoly....the NS was absolutley perfect, not even any bubbling, and both the fronts were fine except a bit of flaky paint on the lips, but no rust!

So this weekend I've been sorting the ol' worms out.

After taking the metal back further I ended up with this

and the back of the sill was shagged so I decided to cut part of the sill back

and welded in a new section I made up (partly tacked on in the picture)

I made up and tacked in the new section in the wheel arch

and have finished welding it in, treated it and am letting the treatment dry so I can paint it and waxoyl it tomorrow.

When taking the sill trim off I also found this (just below the back of the driver's door)

so I'm going to cut that out and weld a new section in.

Stripped some paint back on the wheel arch and chucked some Kurust on it.

Should have the welding finished tomorrow night so next I'll get the VCDS on it so I can sort the ABS out. Will buy new sensors if needs be. I'm hoping my shocks will turn up tomorrow or Tuesday so I can get onto them and get the retest booked in.

All welded in and sealed!

Put some anti-rust primer on the external metal and arch so I'll rub that down later and spray it.

My shocks turned up today too so I'll get those swapped over tonight/tomorrow, then it's just the ABS to do!
