Dealers are basically 'bullsh!tters' to put it simply. I called an Audi dealer asking what deals they would do on the new S3, he was like "Nothing, you just won't get a discount on a car we'll easily sell" He then went on to say "I worked at VW until recently (the exact dealer I've ordered my car with btw) and I never gave a discount on a GTI in the 9 and a half years i worked there". What utter crap! I said I just got about £1200 off without even much negotiating. He was like "Wow I can't believe it" They just talk crap.

I know the above was posted a while ago but can I ask which Audi dealership you were referring to Hayabusa? I ask because the guy I bought my GTI off from Citygate Watford last year told me he was leaving to join Audi and he certainly gave me a discount on my GTI...

Sure man. It was Watford Audi. I forgot his name now. But it was pure bull if ever I heard it.

Here is the story of my journey in trying to get the best discount.

1. First dealer gave me £1150 (but I reckon I under sold myself)

2. Went to another North west London dealer and asked for £3k (about 9%) and I was told they ain't gonna undervalue the brand and offered me £1500 max

3. In the end I got £2800 ! (9%) from a VW dealer outside of London. Undervalue the brand? My arse!

I did a pcp on my BMW over 4 years. First time I have done this. Normally I go down the hp route. My ballon payment at the end of the deal is 10.5k and my monthly payments are £320. The nett cost of the car with discount was 32.5k and I put a good deposit of 10k down. As soon as I purchased the car I opened up a savings account just for the car and put any spare cash in there. I've got quite obsessed about this with the ballon payment hanging over me and managed to save 4k in 8 months. So it looks like I will probably change in 3 years and have a healthy deposit of 12k for my next car ( maybe a golf R  :lipsrsealed: ). BMW were doing 4.9% apr at the time on the pcp. I got 7.5% off the new car. The max achievable is 10%. It's all swings and roundabouts really with car financing. However, I like keeping the payments as low as possible therefore I would certainly consider a pcp again based on my experience thus far. The key is saving for the ballon payment though!

I'm looking forward to seeing some of the new mk7s on here and on the road. It looks a peach and is getting great reviews. Might have to test drive one myself to check out the competition.

I'm still very pleased with the 125i m sport though. The rear wheel drive handling is fantastic especially in sport mode with the lowered apaptive suspension. The gear shifts feel seamless compared to dsg with great levels of torque. Exhaust note is crap though compared to the golf though which is my only real gripe. I would certainly sway towards another BMW again based on the car and dealership experience (they have better coffee machines than the VW dealers )

Duncan by any chance? If so, he was nice guy - I bought my GTI from Citygate Watford in July 2012 and I got 5dr, DSG, metallic paint and Monza shadows for £26k. We also got some freebies chucked in like a baby seat and ISOFIX base (we were expecting at the time). So he definitely did give a discount during his time at VW!

Just ordered a 5 door GTD DSG Pearl Black to upgrade from my MKVI GT 2.0TDI yesterday.

Managed to get a 9.65% discount from VW main dealer after thinking about buying via a broker (before reading broker comments on here and glad I didnt go the broker route now). Main dealer matched broker price (or more accurately what I told them the broker price was with not asking for proof lol).

Added a few extra to bring the list price to £30,240 - ended up paying £27,320 (2,920 discount).
Winter Pack
Park Assist
Rear View Camera
Advanced Phone Prep
Climate Windscreen
Dynaudio
Keyless entry
High Beam Assist
Matts, flaps & tank of Diesel

Basically getting all the extras for £15 less than the standard OTR price lol

Also got the Autoglym package for half price (£149) - I know there may be some debate over this but to me its worth it at half price.

I know there has been talk on the park assist/rear view camera but the dealer didn't mention anything.

Estimated delivery date of early November though... dealer hopeful it will be brought forward a month......
Still waiting on confirmed build week etc....

Was a cash sale and hoping to discuss a discount on the service pack closer to delivery.
