Flywheel Lightening
« on: 10 April 2013, 12:55 »
Yes I have done a search but couldnt find any definite answers.

So who has had their flywheel lightened and to what weight?
How low can you go? Have heard 5.5kgs but I think that is too low for a road car.

Oh only asking about a 16v abf engine

Actually I just found this - http://www.golfgtiforum.co.uk/index.php?topic=134237.0

But looking at those photos my "spare" flywheel dont look like that!
The toothed edge seems to be double that width!

Hotgolf (Mart) has just lightened and balanced mine to roughly 5.6 KG which he said is the norm when he

lightens them

That's the same part number as mine; the latest ETKA doesn't recognise it but it is an ABF flywheel.
