JOM coilover warranty? update 11/05/13
« on: 03 April 2013, 18:30 »
How do, Ive got a set of JOM coilovers on my car and they were brand new when i brought them and were fitted lastyear on 26/07/2012. so around 8months old

the last few weeks the drivers front shock seemed to be getting harder and harder and im getting a really bad vibration/steering wheel shake at around 70mph.

Under closer inspection the driverside front shock seems to be leaking  :lipsrsealed:

Where do I stand with warranty?

anyone ever dealt with problems with JOM coilovers?

cheers

I tried to get mine replaced under warranty with the exact same problem. I got absolutely nowhere with it, JOM replied to e-mail in broken english and wanted nothing to do with it.

The vibration/steering wheel shake is probably unrelated though...lost wheel weight maybe, checked for bulges in tyres?

Someone else had a shocking experience with JOM on here with some  lights, I wouldn't touch them with a barge pole now
ARZ K03s, Oettinger Side Skirts, R32 front, Carbon stage 2, Forge 007p (yellow spring), Forge Actuator (yellow spring), Pipercross panel filter with DSG parts, N249 and N112 deleted, SAI deleted, Carbon canister deleted, Rear wiper deleted, Long Life turbo back custom exhaust with 200 cell sports cat, VR6/G60 clutch kit, Creation Motorsport TIP, Catch can, 'Wellycooler', K04 charge pipe, S3 ported inlet manifold - looks pretty standard on the outside though :)

I had two faulty fronts. They were really helpful, I had to purchase the replacements though. But as soon as they collected the faulty parts the purchased shocks were refunded in a few days.

They didn't offer me this solution but I asked if it was possible, to which they agreed. Give them an email, see what they say I suppose!

Where did you buy them from? It the sellers responsibility to sort this. You will still have 1 year warranty against defects?

As Wazzzer says, it's a manufacturers warranty. The company you buy them through just refers you directly to JOM.
