Lots of subtle differences like anti roll bar and coolant pipes

I assume you boought the whole car as that means you'll have everything to hand

hi,
ys i bought the whole car but there are a few bits missing, like clutch slave cylinder, rad is mashed, air box missing, thinking all them would be the same as my 2.0 8 v motor, also in the engine bay i have removed the engine loom, ( the one that comes from the ecu to various sensors and coil packs) is this the only one i need along with ECU and clocks, or do i need ignition barrel and key to?
also can i keep my AC and transfer it to my agu turbo motor or is it not possible,
thanks for any help as i do this project,
pete.

If you fit the clocks etc from the donor car then it should in theory just be plug and play. I know we had one or two issues with the immobiliser side of things and had to get the immobiliser removed from the ECU

Dont assume they will all be the same; like i said there were lots of subtle differences which if my mate didnt have the donor car would have cost a small fortune to buy.

Id also recommend replacing any belts and small vacuum pipes before putting the engine back into your car. This means you know everything is in tip top shape

yeah was going to do cam belt kit and clean the oil pickup as i haer there is a common fault with this blocking up before i refited the engine, will just have to see how it goes,
not going to get chance to work on it again untill next weekend now when i have the use of a hoist,
i do have vagcom but have no idea on how to recode the clocks or ECU at the min, will have to loo into it,
