2.8 4motions. How bad are they?
« on: 31 January 2013, 18:16 »
So with me loving the SDI due to economy etc and pure abusing cheapness, I want to keep it as the family sh!tter.

However, it's got no carpet is pretty uncomfortable and nasty.

So I've seen some absolute bargain 4 motions. Talking like grands and under! I'm going to be needing to transoort my mum to London soon for treatment so will be back and forward etc and the MK4 is just uncomfortable and loud etc.

What sort of MPG do they get on a run, are they half pokey? I fully enjoyed my girlfriends Ka the other day and it felt like a Ferrari just to give an idea.

Just looking for something thqt will pull on the motorway and be comfortable.

Cheers.

Where all my moneys went.

Assuming fuel plus insurance.  Have to admit 200 quid more and I could insure an R32.

If they're terrible on fuel I'll just spend the money on an interior wheels and suspension on the SDI.

There is nothing wrong with a 4 mo mate fuel is not much worse than a 1.8t and it depends on your driving insurance maybe only a couple hundred more but u won't find an r32 as cheap obviously... If the 4mo is mega cheap I would be checking mileage and if chains have been done and the haldex has been looked after!! Very underrated cars love mine to bits!!

Was having a look at one today, only when the MOT history didn't match I didn't pursue it any further!

So tempting as seem to have so many toys for the money.

+1 i come from a mapped 1.8t mk4 and dont notice much fuel difference be honest. 4mo us lot more fun and love mine too. Not had it long tho. they are heavy cars but power is thrown out well. As said have good look around if one is going for mega cheap saying thy the 1.8t ans 4mos seem to have come down in price a lot
