I've only ever driven one 2.8 4MO, and I didn't find it as quick or as fun to drive as my 1.8T. The only 2.8 that ever impressed me was charged and it had a non res Milltek, now that was nice.

I've never even found .:R32s that much fun to drive, although the sound really makes up for the slight lack of power

Hmmm can't say I agree I have driven both and apart from suspension I preferred the 4mo... My friend has an anni and the 4mo is faster not by much I will add

I have a 4motion and love it! fuel is not great on short runs but ok on long runs but if fuel worries you sticcccck with the oil burner! that's why my family drive is a 2.0 16valve Touran  the v6 feel sluggish at time because the engine is smooth and does it's stuff effortlessly! a few tweaks makes them a serious motor for not a lot of cash.

tax depends on what year it is ,as it went up after 2001 ,but mines a x reg (2000) and i pay the same price in tax as i did with the mk3 8v.iirc it was £123 for 6 months
does a map make that much difference as someone said to me they didnt on the 4mo ?

From what i have read with other v6 build threads and In my friends 4mo it feels better to drive power delivery is smoother most people only care about bhp which is why they say it doesn't make a huge difference and they are right u won't see much gains but for me the drive after was worth it it will be getting remapped once I decat it
