K03 to K03s
« on: 28 January 2013, 12:35 »
Getting my K03s on tomorrow, but I currently have a stage 1 carbon remap, do I need to do anything in order for it to run ok?

I cant get it mapped for at least another week, but may still need to potter around here and there in it

also from my spec, what 'should' I get from a stage 2 remap?
ARZ K03s, Oettinger Side Skirts, R32 front, Carbon stage 2, Forge 007p (yellow spring), Forge Actuator (yellow spring), Pipercross panel filter with DSG parts, N249 and N112 deleted, SAI deleted, Carbon canister deleted, Rear wiper deleted, Long Life turbo back custom exhaust with 200 cell sports cat, VR6/G60 clutch kit, Creation Motorsport TIP, Catch can, 'Wellycooler', K04 charge pipe, S3 ported inlet manifold - looks pretty standard on the outside though :)

Not to sure with your main question however I have been researching "what to do" when it comes to stage 2 remaps.

The things I have found that should be done are as follows:
  • clutch and flywheel.
  • upgrade all pipes to silicones.
  • upgrade the DV.
  • upgrade injectors.
  • upgrade the air filter to a higher performance panel filter or induction kit.
  • advisable to upgrade the exhaust.

I'm sure there are bits I have missed. Others will add I'm sure :)

Whilst generally it's not advised to thrash it when a bigger turbo is fitted, in the case of a st1 AGU going from ko3 to ko3S I've generally found them to be fine.

Depending on how aggressive your st1 is you may find it misfires a bit under boost, so be careful if that's the case until it's mapped, but 9/10 times they run just fine with a ko3S bolted straight on.

My old 1.8t Anniversary had the ko3s as standard as was mapped to a safe 210bhp. Only downside was the wheel spin in the damp or wet. It was shocking.

Not in any way standard :) Dyno Dynamics RR - 280bhp
