Nice job on the smoothing , personally I wouldn't have bothered with the tape as I think it will eventually come away and block the filter

I did fear that. I may take it off in the next week or so as it's something that's at the back of my head.

ditto.

Working on mine too, but just removing the cone inside and making the small entry hole bigger to match (ish) the size of the intake pipe.  Not fussed about the fins, just trying to remove the airbox input restriction.

Waiting for pay day to get a bit of ~70mm ali tube.

You only ever need two tools in life. If it moves and it shouldn't use Duct Tape. If it does not move and it should, use WD40.
