Bingo, 20 minutes! Didn't bother with the DAB aerial at the mo, too dark to be taking trim apart to route the wire properly! Might even wait & get the dealer to do it when it's MOT'd. Thanks everyone, I is a happy lad!

I know this is all about fitting bluetooth, but the principle of running the wire to the mic is the same, albeit on the other side of the car.

Red Mk6 gone replaced with a white Mk7 which has gone too. Green Mk2 here to stay.

Not sure if you have bought an rcd510 yet but take a look at "turbo herbie" on ebay. Selling for £289 will accept £200
I found the MDI glovebox kit for less than £100 too

Thanks for that. I won mine in his auction, £194.00, brand new with vw warranty, already had the MDI fitted. Brilliant next day service from turbo herbie, thoroughly recommended!
