Take it out, the sad thing is the AUM had a bunch of crap added to meet euro 2000 emission standards, such as the SAI, which goes wrong, either the pump itself or a valve, again removing it will do no harm and still pass you during the mot as it only serves a small function during start up, that in no way would effect emissions.

that's good news then - Just waiting on my parts now. Looking forward to pulling it all out to be fair. The suxtion jet pump keeps falling apart everytime I feel like giving the car some beans which is terribly annoying!

Took me a while to fine a decent Catch Can with look OEM and was 19mm - found the Draft 42 one on awesome GTI - looks really nice but is on the pricey side

One question about the catch can install - I would like to run the 1 vacum line for the brakes like Pat does in his "how to" guide... Looks really nice after he reconfigures the pipe... do you thinks he's just revised this with further 19 ID pipe?

19mm would be too big for that pipe, I reckon it's prob only 12-14mm ID...

You can get it looking quite OEM too

i like that - i would have chosen black pipes if i did the work after i purchased it.

this is mine at the moment (excuse the circle) - will look nice with an OEM style can in there.. and if i take of the dam forge sticker :P ... i do need a strut brace :undecided:

So this is what I ordered. Stealth catch can, 19mm ID oil resistant hose, 19mm barbed T piece and some new clips

So took out the bracket and started moving the pipes out - Pcv valve was completely clogged up with pure filth! So was the upper breather etc. as I expected its was a newer AUM than pats guide so it also had this vac pipe leading from the jet suction pump to the TIP

Also I had 2 vac intake nipples under the mani

So I decided to block of both and remove the vac line from SAP to TIP. I left the line installed incase it didn't go to plan .... Will fully remove tomorrow while detailing the engine bay!

So next I added the vac lines and happy days! Nice snug fit ! Now need to fix a bracket to the front!

Bracket fitted . Gunna spray it black! Need to give the bay a clean tomorrow and order more pipe to sort out the blanked off booster pipe... Engine cover is to be trimmed down on the morning as it was getting dark!

So I now she idles lovely! Better mpg ,and hold full boost longer! Very happy with the results!

Will upload some decent pics tomorrow showing full result :)
