Thermostat Issue
« on: 16 December 2012, 17:09 »
I have had an issue recently where my thermostat wasn't working, the temp gauge was always showing below 80, so ive had my thermostat and a few other bits replaced but now the temp guage gets up to 90 very nicely and sits there but after about 10 minutes it will rise and rise and get to about 110 and then depending on how fast I am going it will fluctuate between 95 and 110/115. (the faster I go the higher it goes) should I be worried the car is over heating or has my mechanic missed something?

Thanks in advance.

You got heat coming out when You put on your heaters? Sounds like temp sender which Is 13 quid. Water pump looking into £200+ :lipsrsealed: would not jump to that till all cheap options are Rulled out

I've just checked the invoice and the sender was changed too.

when I got into the car today, it did take a while for hot air to come out of the heaters.

it should do, but from reading your original post something is wrong with the thermostat
ARZ K03s, Oettinger Side Skirts, R32 front, Carbon stage 2, Forge 007p (yellow spring), Forge Actuator (yellow spring), Pipercross panel filter with DSG parts, N249 and N112 deleted, SAI deleted, Carbon canister deleted, Rear wiper deleted, Long Life turbo back custom exhaust with 200 cell sports cat, VR6/G60 clutch kit, Creation Motorsport TIP, Catch can, 'Wellycooler', K04 charge pipe, S3 ported inlet manifold - looks pretty standard on the outside though :)

Even though it's been changed? I'll just have to drive her carefully and get her looked at again at next weekend.
