Water leak. Help still needed
« on: 14 December 2012, 20:34 »
Evening all.

Just wanted to get some more advice. I have had all the outer door seals changed and the 2 front outer lower door seals changed and I still have a leak in the rear passenger footwell after this weeks down pour. The passenger seals have not yet been changed but they seem ok. Any ideas would be great. Sorry to retread old ground.

Thank you for your help.

I had the same issue a while ago and after 3 weeks of struggling, I found that the leak was coming from the pollen filter BUT....I had the filter and panel replace because I thought it was the reason but the leak was coming from the base of the pollen filter unit.

The leak ran down the front of the car under the carpet and stopped in the rear passenger foot rest
this confused the crap out of me but a tub of silicone and Vaseline sorted it out in a way. That was my experience

have you cleared the nippled out as squeezing them dont do anything but get rid of the loose crap in there, you need to cut the crimp off the end and insure that the rigid pipe is not loose on the internals

Cheers james. Have cut the crimp off. I have noticed that there is a lot of water under the door rims. Have had the rubber door seals replaced though?
