I have 80mm cold feed. I cut a hole in the box then used the top part trumpet to put on the hole (cut down) so I could seal it with silicone and have something to fix the 80mm hose to.

got any pics?

No. I might take some later if your lucky

Blanking plate over the warm air intake opening and remove the vacuum piping from the side.  I also took out the connection points  and filled the holes with rivets.

do you just leave the vaccum pipes hanging there or remove them completely???

Bad idea opening up the airbox. Glen knows why.

You'll see why in Feb 2013.

Whats going down?

I completely removed both vacuum hoses from the throttle body and bunged up the outlets so there was no air leaks.

It's why I'm not down on power on my latest run. I'll be remodelling a new airbox when I'm back from Brazil, a sealed box.

Now this is what ive been thinking,is there any benefit having cold air feed on a turbo motor,as i thought the air would get very hot as it passes through the turbo anyway ,or does every little help?

Best way how?
I tried it...built a long CAI to the duct below the drivers side foglight and it made no difference.
On yours it may help...but on most it'll do nothing but add bling and noise.

The standard airbox (de-restricted) is as good as anything on a 16v up to 200BHP.

Reducing my Golf count by the week....
..but gaining motorcycles.
