I've asked before but never got a answer.

I'm gonna put the vr lump in my gti because, I can't sell the vr as a car without taking a huge loss. (Keeping the gti lump)

So I have everything I need and can do it easily but here is the question.

Will I be able to keep the standard gti laser alarm with the vr6 loom?

The vr6 has a after market alarm and I don't want to use it.

I don't know anything about this part help please.

I don't know for sure but would hazard a guess yes because it's either plug n play as its standard and will therefore still be plug n play with the vr lump/loom or it's added into the gti loom at the dealers so could be added into the vr loom in the same way.......that make sense?

Yes it should be an easy job, Your Laser alarm will be wired in the same as any other aftermarket alarm because as far as I know no alarms for the mk3 were factory fit. It was no doubt a dealer fit.

When I did an engine conversion it was just a case of finding the alarm wires that are linked into the engine harness and then wiring them to the new engine harness after the swap.

In my experience all factory alarms were wired into the car loom, not the engine loom. They are generally bridged onto the starter motor live feed which isn't on the loom you will be replacing so happy days

Had a look on Vagcat for ya and the compressor itself looks the same but the mounting bracket is different.
As for the rest of the aircon I would assume they are the same.
