Good work on this so far mate, the rear lights look great against the Dragon Green paint and the dewiper mod always looks good I will be doing the same, but waiting till I paint and then welding and smoothing. The exhaust tips stick out a fair bit though don't they, what's up with that?

I have to say that looks like the vento back box which has longer pipes to clear the bumper (also sold on ebay as fitting the golf!)

This could well be the case, it is mounted as far back as possible but still sticks out loads. I got it secondhand on eBay for £35, doesn't really bother me much.

Received my Anniversary reflectors that go inbetween the fog and indicators but both have cracks in 
Rather than waste more money on another set figured I may as well salvage these and do something slightly different by colour-Coding them.

So in an attempt to salvage the reflectors I first sanded all the markings off, and sanded all over with 180 grit paper to aid primer adhesion.



Added 3 coats of primer and left to dry overnight.



Then 3 coats of paint and 4 coats of lacquer.



Here they are fitted. Think they look pretty decent!



Car is very dirty at the moment but really don't see the point in washing it, as it won't stay clean long!

I'm thinking of taking the yellow tint film off as it looks a bit busy colour wise at the front now.

Next on the agenda, colour coded wheels

Yellow fogs are staying, they look much better in real life for some reason. Picking up another green grill tomorrow.

Few small updates...

Picked up a 6n2 GTI steering wheel to replace mine which was awful, the rubber was twisting on the metal core so pretty unsafe!



Also picked up a GTI grill as was looking to change up my front end a little. Had to repaint the lower portion as it was stone chipped all over, and also painted the upper slats black. Painted the GTI badge the same black for a stealthy look. Much happier with it now. Also removed the red pin striping from the bumpers as I was a little bored of it.
