End of the day its a valver - the flywheel will help but its not enough on its own and its mega ££ to get good figures out off

I don't agree.
You can spend £100s on a chip, filter, exhaust etc...and end up with 165ish BHP at best...and on an otherwise standard car, a light flywheel will feel like you have added more power - lots more.

It's not an aluminium flywheel you are adding...so anyone who can drive will be able to adjust.
A de-ramped TB will make the car far more likely to bog down and stall than a light flywheel.

In my view, a light flywheel on a 16v is a win-win mod.

It's a good mod, but not for someone who has limited mechanical skills.

Best sticking to brake lights in spoilers.

Whatever they would charge for clutch labour i'd presume. It is a gearbox removal job at the end of the day

well a lightened 02A flywheel is still heavyer than a standard 020 flywheel.  took my daily one down to 5kg engines more responsive  no change in drivablity  if your stalling it all the time you should really ether leaarn to use a clutch  or buy an auto. even 3KG flywheels are drivable on the road.

where drivablity goes out the window  is when you fit an ultra light that basicly just a starter ring gear these tend to have a small diamier multiplate paddel clutch,  all desinged to have next to no inertia.  these things are a pain to drive anything other than flat out but lots of people seem to think a ligtend std flywheel will have the same downsides
all the VW's have gone bar 1.

Your example from the net is giving extreme effects:

Stalling when pulling away may be a problem with heavy car with a really light flywheel.

Losing some engine braking does happen but use your brakes for braking they are cheaper to replace than your clutch.

I don't think you'll be doing donuts in your Golf to impress the ladies so I wouldn't bother about this.

A lightened flywheel on a 16v Golf is a nice upgrade and worth every penny (in my opinion) but if you can't do the work yourself it's going to cost you to have the gearbox and clutch removed, the flywheel removed, and then the parts replaced. If you have any sense you will have the clutch replaced at the same time. Budget for £70+ for the flywheel, £100 for the clutch, £150 to £250 for the labour.
