I was more refering to the other things hes doing, as i comment earlier in the post the notch is abit extreme, but as hes said to late now and im sure he isnt going to scrap the hole car for that. Just think its easy to be a critic.

Well I beg to differ.
I'm not going to make my car unsafe as to be honest I don't really wanna die or cause injury to anyone if I ever have a accident due to a modification.

Anyway, can we now stop all this "b!tching" or "experienced talk" in my thread, I've heard enough of you moaning.

Interested in seeing how this turns out in regard to the tb's. Never knew it was possible given how little room their is.

As for the notch and its structural strength. Surely having a car so low that its needs this mod renders its impact energy absorbency qualaties with another car more or less useless given it being so low. Another vehicle would simply ride on over the top of the chassis legs. Putting more energy into the lowered car and less into a normal car. So aslong as its strong enough to drive on the road it should be fine. Lowering any car will always have a negative effect in a crash but we all know this and take the risk. I like my mk3 low but not enough to have put a notch in but our roads are not good enough.

Anyway keep up the good work.

Yep, I am. Because mine is lowered like I said. I don't know your ride height preferences. But the fact is, I car will not behave the way it was intended to in a head on with another similar sized vehicle if its slammed to the ground. Dosn't deter people from doing it.

Thanks mate.

I'm unsure of how much space I will have once the Tbs are fitted but think I'm going to need a shortened rad as I think the trumpets will sit just about where the standard rad is. Can't do stuff like that until the engine is built tho.
The main reason I've done a notch is because I don't wanna go through all the effort of smoothing and painting the bay to then go and need a notch and have to redo it all. I lowered the car to pretty much where I want it to sit and the shaft was about 1cm off the leg.

I cant forsee any issue with the notch aslong as its put together correctly. My vr is lowered just enough that the shaft never touches the leg and thats good enough for me. I'm sure making the space for the tb's wont be too bad although doing it so its all set up right and functioning on the road will be fun.
