17705 is pretty infamous. I had it and it was my PCV system leaking. I replaced all the hoses with creation motorsport silicone ones and its been fine since.

Are all the hoses under the inlet oily?

Mine looked fine when I took them off, there were no obvious splits. They must have been leaking at the joints. The oily mess everywhere is a giveaway.

I couldnt see any oil, althou there is some around the bottom end of my block just below the Termo area, and there is also some on the bottom of the sump near the big intercooler pipe area althou im unsure weather thats oil fromt he drive shaft as thats oily too. I took my Turbo/intercooler pipe off and looked all round it, bent it looking for cracks/holes but nothing. The PCV pipe looked almost brand new to me althou the clips holding it on are the standard *once you remove them you can't re-use them jobs* so I didn't fully remove it for inspection. Am I right in thinking thats the pipe that connects to the inlet?
