parts extra that'll need to be sent back due to the difference in peoples opinions of what is/isnt needed.
the benefit for me doing it the S3/Cupra way is that its less pipework (completely removes the pancake pipe work etc) and you can see on the images that it shouldnt be that hard to do (famous last words  )
all my parts should be here by the end of the week and I have given myself Sat and Sun to fit the bad boy
missus ST TDCI is in for MOT though so may need some bits for that doing, if I have to pull an all nighter to fit the FMIC I will

Great knew think a like. Not just the Wellycooler but ST TDCI for the wife. How ever we just sold it!
It's great that there's so many different ways to do it. Can't wait for mine to arrive however half the silicone pipe work has turned up the wrong colour arse!

Don't no for sure but I'd say 63mm which is the magic number on a good flowing FMIC on these engines check out the relentless page on facebook there's also info on there.

I'v seen some people use silicone on the 90/45 degree bends and some people use alloy?
Whats the difference and does it matter what you use?

Well other than the obvious that the alloy wont be as flexible, you obviously need to have alloy each side of the silicone to tighten it onto

other than that I think you can use what you like / prefer, I have opted for as much alloy as I can and using small pieces of silicone to join them.

Cant wait, some bits should be there today

So doin it prawny's way is pretty much the same pipe length as doin it the welly way, so there would be no difference in performance wise?

Is it just how it looks that's different? Also easier as our inlets are originally this way round

Surely it should be a bit better as the charge pipe isn't above the hot exhaust manifold??

What are the cons of doing it like this???

Prawn. You are THE MAN
So the only real restriction here is the 51mm outlet on the turbo?
I can see you've moved the dv to the cold side. Is it just a take off for the n75 you have to add?

yea, after the turbo outlet it goes straight to 63mm the whole way, apart from the entry and exit from the cooler. Mine works fantastically well!

I did have a cold side kit at the time of fitting yes, although the DV has since been moved back to the first alloy charge pipe after the turbo, Niki prefered it this way.

Wellys setup, and parts list, is his way of installing it on an S3 / LCR (silly left handed inlet), and the lower section is much more visable.

Mine works for a ko3 / ko4 setup on a mk4 golf / LC / A3 running a right handed inlet.

Only change between ko3 and ko4 fitment is the first pipe, ko3 fitment uses a silicon 51-63 straight expansion onto an alloy 90, then a coupler onto the 45 and down, ko4 fitment just uses a 51-63 90 reducer straight off the turbo.
