VAGCOM Coding.........Pretty Please........!!

Hey boys and girls,

I'm sure that this has been covered before but there are just too many results after using the search function. I realise that I am being lazy but I am now on borrowed time and need to get the issue resolved asap, hence my post.

I had a retrofitted LED with DRL's headlamp set fitted on my GiT 2010, which were purchased from China, but I can't get the correct coding for all lights to work as they should.

1. The DRL's work when in-car light setting on 0 and Auto only, not when on sidelights or even when main beams come on (either via Auto or 'On')
2. When light setting is switched to 'Sidelights', no lights at all come on up front

Can anyone please confirm the correct coding to get the new headlamps to work as they should pretty please.....?

Regarding the LED DRL's,could you not simply take a 12v feed straight from the battery via a fuse and give them a switched feed,leaving your main beam switched as it was before.The DRL'S would then be on all of the time as they should be.If I'm talking nonsense sorry,just a suggestion.

I know it's a long shot but is there any other forums where a user has bought these and installed?

Were there any instructions that came with the lights that we might be able to help decipher?

Thats same as me mate, sidelight selected = no lights on at all. The LEDs became my DRLs, and there is no other bulbs to become your sidelights so nothing will come on.

I'll have another look through other forums. I cannot understand why my code did not work with yours?

Here's a link with some coding instructions at the bottom of the page and I believe that he's using the euroswitch. His is a 2012 and it appears that he didn't have to touch byte 18.

Ok, but any idea's as to why the DRL's do not work when main headlights are on ??

I cannot help you out there mate. It's a weird one but did read on the other forums that people were having similar issues. Just need to look through the different forums and get to the bottom of it.
