Coilovers Review

Saw this on another forum when searching around and thought it was a great idea. Basically it's one thread giving personal reviews of kits that you have tried and tested. This is all in one thread to save people searching through thread after thread for reviews. Please only right a review if you have personally tried the kit and list the following:

Your review of the kit, ride, quality etc etc.

Please no posts asking if a kit is good just read the reviews and make up your mind which coilovers suit you best 

I'm in the market for some at the moment so can't start the reviews so hopefully someone will start it off for me below

Very good quality been on for 2 years now not sceized up and no leaks, Nice firm ride only gripe is rears wound to bottom and not low enough
but still would recomend

Weitec gt kit

Awesome bit of kit and amazing quality or the price.
Improves handling greatly and ride is nice and firm but not rock hard like some cheaper brands.
Would defiantly reccomeded.

I changed the TA sh!tbrix that came on my Anniversary for a set of these. The difference was night and day. The TA's were crashy and bouncy all at the same time, you could feel literally every bump in the road, they were just awful to live with. The first time I sat into my car on the Weitecs I could feel the difference, firm but comfortable ride, and they seem to be getting better over time, really great bit of kit for the price.

They lower more than enough for me too. Twin Tube design and galvanized strut housing was an added bonus too. I'd highly recommend them. I did a good bit of homework on them before I bought, and the majority of reviews on the forums were very positive.

Been on for 18months and still fine. The ride is good its not uncomfortable and they come with 2years warranty!
No knocks or bangs, can go pretty low if you wanted and helps grip the road really well in my opinion.

The only down fall is when delivered you have to makesure everything is tight as I had read on ukmkivs the front struts have a nut on the shock that come loose over time and cause the it to flex then leak fluid, Well mine were loose when delivered! Haha

as jamie said really is spot on.... mine were loose to but only found out afterwards been pretty good apart from having several spine replacements on my back but that could be down to age

Been on the car nearly 2 years  now with no problems at all. Nice ride & not too hard. Only downside is they can be a bit bouncy at times but that doesn't really bother me that much.

Used these for 2 years before I sold them, ideal solution for lowering but dampening rate was awful and the ride was bouncy yet harsh. The shocks were gone after 2 years and the coating on the spring peeled off. It served its purpose as a temporary solution and given its price it will suffice for lowering.

Bilstein b16 pss9 - £1400
I had these for just over 16 months and the transformation is quite profound; the shocks can be felt working on something as mundane as a straight piece of dual carriageway where before it felt absent. The ride is no more harsh than on JOM although this depends on your choice of setting for the shocks. The shocks characteristics such as compression/rebound etc. are all adjusted via a single dial which makes for a simple process, but also means a lack of adjustability as they are unable to be independently changed. The bilsteins inspires confidence in the corners not least because of its responsiveness which is in part the result of its high pressure monotube shock design. The high pressure shock design makes for a more consistent performance even with sustained use on the track - it holds its handling characteristics where previously the JOM would get sloppy after the equivalent of a taster session as the shock's gas began to heat up.

The placement of the adjustors for the front shock is questionable and they are not made of stainless steel as offered by Kw variants in their inox line which is disappointing, but overall I am content they serve their purpose as performance coilovers.

been on for 6 months now, rides fine (handles better than standard, but lets face it thats not hard) out handles some peoples cars with alot more expensive kits on. ride is firm but not too firm. perfect budget kit. for track i would be going for weitec or something more but just for road use i cant fault these

£1400 for coils most ppl's cars are not worth that much
