Mk2, Mk3 subframe, Mk4 AGU - Does it work?
« on: 11 June 2012, 15:06 »
According to this, not.

http://www.clubgti.com/showthread.php?243755-Mk3-subframe-1-8T

Has anyone on here got a mk2, with a mk3 subframe with a 1.8t in?

Or am I going to have to get a mk2 subframe, reason I didn't use mine is it's a 1.3 and I believe I need a different one to bolt 1.8t onto.

1.3 is different to 1.6 and 1.8 which is why you needed a different subframe.

We'll soon find out if it works when the motor and gearbox are mocked up on the subframe.
Just because you're offended doesn't make you right.

Let's hope so too as I plan on fitting my mk3 diesel subframe + rack widetrack etc with an agu in the mk2 in the not too distant future.. Fitted the mk2 16v subframe rack etc when I went from 1.3, if I recall it looked the same, I just dropped them and swapped them for ease...

Out of interest, why a diesel subframe? Or was that just what you could get your hands on?
