well it was sold as being said it was working yes so i thought i'd try the ecu first so i have taken the ecu off the new pump and stuck it on my original pump to which there is no change in the codes coming up so only option really is to see if tshirt can find a problem with my original ecu if there are no problems then it is definately the pump so i will have to try the new pump anyway  i cant see why it wouldn't bleed up the normal way myself with matching ecu and pump like you say should I try it?

Handbrake light? That means bias isn't working.

My handbrake light comes on after a couple of minutes and then stays on. So then I guess I need to repair the abs ECU then?

Don't brake to hard. You may find rear will lock up.

yeah could be back end locks up sometimes getting used to it now   what does that involve so it might not actually be the main pump after all? bloody vw

this is what mine does but sometimes it wont come on for half a mile or so which is when its most dangerous as i have hardly no brakes

This is what mine was doing coupled with the abs light,ECU was at fault.

It has been locking up on loose surfaces like on a dusty road and the front end has tried to jump into the hedge!
