Yes but after you declare it insurance will probably be more given the nature of engine conversions
Actually quite possibly not. Insurance companies tend to take an average of the insurance group, so it may well be lower than a standard GTI.
Hardly worth the effort though.
they class it as a modification.. it will go up more.. id deffo check first
we have had issues, not quite the same but..
direct line and about 15 other companies wouldn't insure my dads car no longer because we converted it to AUQ (180 BHP mk4 Annie engine and box)) from 2.0 8v
the only company that would touch it was Adrian flux, however the price was same as he was paying on the 2.0 engine
I also had the same problem when i did mine, as did my mate whoc mk4 we converted from 1.8 non turbo to 1.8T
