It's a common problem is the clutch cable cuttin through the bulk head, mine went on me about 6 months ago and snapped the cable, but it should only be a minor piece of welding, it's where it is that wil be the ballache for them. If possible try to get them to put a rubber washer to feed the cable through so it doesn't snap again when rubbing through the hole. As for the gearbox, I don't know prices but a reconditioned gearbox shouldn't be stupid money, I guess the labour of fitting it will eat most of the cash.ÂÂÂ

I get miffed with my cabby from time to time but when I see it nice and shiney, clean and running well, I love it.ÂÂÂ
