so the time has come to give up trying to revive my 8v.
I picked up a tuned 16v engine for a gd price so thats going in
does any1 know if theres anything that might cause a problem during the swap?
got the complete engine, full running gear, full loom and clocks.
do i need a new manifold?

You need ecu and transponder too. Also need 16v front engine mount and a 16v complete exhaust system.
8v is 50mm
16v is 55mm

my cars got a miltek exhaust system will that do? the only standard part is manifold and downpipe

yep

but can still work, we did it with the 16v car i robbed my bits from to convert mine to hydro, we even fitted the 8v box to the abf

Little black box under the dash, behind the clocks i believe, has two wires going into it

yeah bit of a pain if your robbing the bits off the 16 valve car and replacing the 8v bits

but if your car is a 8v you could swap out the lump and mate it up to the 8v box using 8v flywheel, and bingo

to run 16 box and hydro bits he is gonna need all hydro parts and gear linkages plus the correct mount brackets (will still need this for drivers rear side (thats bracket not mount)

driveshafts are all ok


needs chip from donor key too to work with transponder unless ECU has been defeated
