this is the reply i got from Dogbot when i asked about the same problem

sheilagh,

you need to swap on the black plug,

small brown with red trace = ignition live

large red with white trace = permanent live

swap those two & yours will work perfectly, & remember all your stations & cd positions the lot,

basically, your radio's memorey is being wiped when you take out the key, it needs permamnt live to remember these things

the blue remote cable going to the amp is perfectly correct it powers up the amp,

as sheliagh has posted my reply i just need to add that you can either cut & solder the joins & heatshrink them, or you can crimp on connectors, its your choice, but for christs sake dont do what halfords do, which is cut, twist then tape, your dealing with a permananet live..... it needs to be finished up correctly..

most new iso adapters come with bullet connectors so you can do this wothout cutting just depends on which unit you have my new pioneer had the bullet connectors on but my previous jvc didnt, hence why i cut & changed my loom,

the remote output is there for output power souce to amp, not to power memory...

dont work for halfords do you :lipsrsealed:

I don't think those comments are very fair about halfords. Myself and my colleagues where I work would NEVER cut strip and twist
