harsh but true, for the basildon, romford & chelmsford stores at least.....

glad to hear its not all stores tho...
a friend of mine gets a lot of work putting right their nasties.. some of it makes you

best one was a dvd player they fittied to a fiesta the poor lass was towed to another friends garage
only to find interior earths had been connected to a live & spiked through the ecu to earth..... fried ecu...
have seen amp power cables trapped under seat runners, earth points installed an fallen off days later, & the amp that was installed on thursday, had 5m of cables from the 4 speakers wrapped in what can only be decribed as enough insulating tape to cover the journey from lands end to john o groats......
there are however some very experienced installers that work for halfords..they are just far and few between
just google the amount of people upset, this one is exactly what im on about
http://www.autonz.com/knowledge/show34553-have-halfords-ripped-us-off-and-or-broke-the-law-dont have to search for a few seconds an its everywhere
quote fromm above linky.....
"1. Mike Lyons Says: Halfords quoted £116 to wire up the speaker wires for the car cd player and to wire up the Sub. They have put the wires in and just twisted them around the speaker spade connectors. They then told us they could not wire up the sub for some unknown reason.
My worrie is that if the positive wire comes off the speakers and hits the door or earths on something eles it could cause real problems to the main fuse box and with a 220 mile home trip from Portsmouth to Plymouth tomorrow could the car break down ?
Total paid was 2 x 49.99
and 16.99 for a adaptor ?
My upset is they have just pushed these wires in and twisted and not use the crimps and done the job we have paid.
I feel its unsafe and I should ask for my money back
If someone could give me some advice that would be great.
Cheers Mike"
