egr blank plates????

Hi has anyone tried the ebay egr blank plates on a mk 3 1.9tdi golf please? and when fitted do you need to remove any hoses etc??

ive read on another forum tha if you disconnect the hose goin to the egr and blank that off it has the same effect as deleting the egr is this the case?

Imagine so. Might be better off looking in the mk4 section as it's a more common mod than on the mk3 diesel.

You can just disconnect the EGR,  If it has a needle lift sensor it will throw a code, but shouldn't effect it,  The only reason to blank the EGR is if its all gunked up and sticking open rather than closed.

Engine cranes = the ultimate tool to test the tensile strength of Everything you didn't disconnect!

i think it might be stickin open somtimes mate . if i did blank it do i just put the plates in ??

Fit the plates and block the vac hose,  I cant remember if there is a needle lift sensor though,  I guess not,  so just make sure the solenoid near the intake pipe is left plugged in but the hose is blocked off.   Otherwise you might end up with limp mode
