If anything I think the Mk6 is currently the looker of the newish Golfs (Mk5, Mk6 and proposed Mk7). The Mk5 for me has always been a bit too round (especially the bum) whereas the Mk6 brought in just the right amount of angular design to look aggressive, modern and overall very stylish (all in my own opinion of course). The Mk7 looks a little bit too angular for my liking - it's lost some of the roundness of the Mk6 and also has unnecessarily complicated lines (tail-lights are an example).
