yeah i suppose its harsh on whoever gets the painted bumper but TBH I've had my share of sh!t from them and just want what i should have got in the first place. i suppose its the sort of thing most owners wouldn't even notice anyway.

they said their mobile car painter who does small fixes on the forecourt could do it without removing the bumpers from the car. it would just mean removing the liners.

i was actually thinking about repairing it myself with black stone chip paint but I'm not sure if it would stick?

the problem is that the inside edges of the bumpers are just flashed over and not properly painted so it is rough to the touch and just crumbles off eventually. it happens to all golfs but white seems the most problematic as it stands out more.


why didn't the just make the wheel arch liner cover the whole of the inner bumper and it wouldn't be an issue??

geoff i need to speak to you about the underbody axle and tank shields when you get time. I'm in no rush but want to fit these eventually.

can your contact still get these?

Sadly he cannot at the prices i use to as the dealer in Morpeth is now closed  I missed out on quite a few bits from them myself (I did ask for your bits to be ordered at the same time) as the people there due to loosing there jobs decided to not play ball anymore. Hes working on a contact at TPS though so i wait and see what happens as im wanting a few bits in a while too. I'll ask about Ford.

did you fit your rear wishbone shields yet? any noticeable difference?

Sadly not had time as have had (and still do) family paperwork, affairs and the funeral to sort out as well as other things. I have not been in a right frame of mind to do anything car related not to mine anyway. Just done emergency things i had too like fit a top mount, front springs and do the brakes on the ibiza.
