You need to read up on this stuff Mrs Jones.
To fit BMW wheels

you'll need hub adaptors which are like spacers but have a bolt pattern to bolt the adaptor to the hub and then the wheel will bolt to the adaptor. You will then have to make sure the offset and width of the wheel allows you to do this or you will foul either the suspension or more likely the wheel arch.
Spacers are just that - they space the wheels out further in the arches.
I'm sure you can buy a similar design to CSL wheels (I've no idea what CSL wheels look like as I'm not 'scene' and I don't like BMWs) in a correct VW fitment. VMR do that type of wheel and there are loads of VMR replicas about in VW fitment.
Wide dished alloys don't suit mk5 and mk6 Golfs which are tall slab sided cars. Leave the wide wheels and silly suspension to the teenagers in sticker covered mk3s.
If you want to know what wheels fit a mk6 then have a good search in this section, it has been covered many times and there is a huuuuge thread on non original wheels. There are also plenty of good photos on golfmk6.com
I've had two mk6s and about nine sets of wheels between those cars and the wheels that sit right in the arches tend to be 8inches wide and with an offset of around 44 or 45mm. 18s and 19s ride much the same.
