ahh thanks twotwofour but thats a little far lol  the axle stand idea looks ok i guess,a little dodgy but hey!

Why is it dodgy?
The car is secure on the floor, the bar is supported, so what can go wrong?

The idea of the axle stand is that nothing will slip, because everything is supported and square.

Don't use a torque wrench to undo it - the torque wrench is designed as a measuring device not a brute force administration device.  Get a strong-arm bar instead.
Just because you're offended doesn't make you right.

yes, use a longer bar, or a pole on the ratchet, at least a meter long,

other way is to drive it off. done this once before.

have the bar lent to the florr and slowly drive forward to make the ratchet undo the nut.

Depends which side its on ,will have to reverse if on the N/S ,should come off the normal way though with car on the ground and enough leverage.

never siad forward or backwards, knowing which way to drive it would be simple enough,

just use a bar, easiest way. and if your going to use a extension bar for no reason then use the axle stand

Exactly.
Anyone that has done it this way knows that it's the safest way and it won't slip.
In the pic i have used a large 3/4 inch drive breaker bar, these do not flex like the 1/2 inch drive ones.
