Front hub nut stuck fast!

its on a mk3 vr6 front hub,i cant persuade the nut to come undone! ive heated it,wd40'd it leant on it with a torque wrench the lot. it refuses to budge.tomorrow ill be bolting the wheel back on lowering car down,in gear and handbrake on and lean! any other ideas?

They are very very tight fitted from factory (265Nm) and loctited in place so will you need a 3/4" breaker bar at least with probably a long bar over that. Best bet is to do it on the ground with wheel on as if its up on a axle stand the force needed will more than likely topple it.

yes, use a longer bar, or a pole on the ratchet, at least a meter long,

other way is to drive it off. done this once before.

have the bar lent to the florr and slowly drive forward to make the ratchet undo the nut.

Depends which side its on ,will have to reverse if on the N/S ,should come off the normal way though with car on the ground and enough leverage.

I have an inch drive impact gun that would make easy work of that but im in west yorks

ALWAYS undo the hub nut when the car is on the ground.

If you don't have an impact gun, use a big breaker bar and an axle stand, then stand on the breaker bar.
A 3/4 inch breaker bar is better.

That's the best way, remember the axle stand!
