The competition hots up

I don't care what people say but I think that's a seriously nice car. Maybe not in yellow but smart nevertheless.

Okay that's a nice looking motor.

But not too sure on the rear wing?

Hmmm, something to aspire to when you are 20, but would look a tw@ in when you were over 25.
Red Mk6 gone replaced with a white Mk7 which has gone too. Green Mk2 here to stay.

Looks good I reckon, and the 'extra' spolier is an option.

Only thing that lest it down as we all say is residuals, especially if its near £26k new.

Tempted though....

But VW need to take note, next GTi must have good standard equipment, looks and stance to befit a GTi....

Competition is moving on.

I think it will steal sales cos the comparable Mk 7 will no doubt be dearer, 30/40 bhp down on power, come on 18s at best (and possibly even 17s) etc etc.

You can only trade on name and supposed reputation for so long until people just have enough. I'm 44 and would happily drive that VXR so I don't buy into this anti Vauxhall VW snobbery. I liked the previous VXR but bought the Mk6 over it cos I thought it was a better day to day car than the Vauxhall. Next time (assuming I can afford any of them anyway) I will test drive both and probably the Focus and make a decision based on all factors. At the prices we are now looking at, value for money will be an important factor.

Takes the challange to the R range nevermind the GTI for a fraction of the cost.
Again like I told you guys before the GTI is going to be marketed against the ST fiesta and corsa's etc.. in terms of power

Errrrm no way. BTW Ive sat in a new astra top of the range elite which will near enough be the same interior, absolute mess, creaky plastic everywhere and at least 3 classes down from VW.
