They'll make up their minds within the first 5 minutes.  The rest of the interview will just be to confirm their decision.

On a more serious note, the best thing you can do is stay calm, be yourself and come across as confident but not arrogant. Where is the job? PM me if you don't want to share publicly

You've met Chuff, haven't you?

Unfortunately :lipsrsealed:

Don't wear the homer tie and while being yourself is great I would avoid your use of bad language.

no fcuking homer tie, jesus christ its the bloody only one I have

Have a list of 4-5 questions you want to ask them about the job prepared for the end of the interview.  This is as much you interviewing them as it is them interviewing you.

This would be my top recommendation. I know it's all the end of the world out there etc and everyone should be thankful for a job and all that junk but it's important to test that this is the right job. Don't necessarily wait until the end and then ask lots of questions, put them in as you go if it fits well with what is being discussed.

Also, 'mesen' isn't a real word so maybe best not to use that in the interview.

Good luck old man.

:)

question writing tonight, so any  suggestions, ?

If they ask why did you apply for the job, remind them you applied for a different job and ask them why they put you forward for this job instead - this could be a good question to ask them

Lots of top tips already given, good luck :afro:

yep, gotta get that in, albeit in a polite manner.

Firm handshake and eye contact.
Only one thing worse than a shy wet palm and no eye contact from a candidate, and that is if it comes from the interviewer.

Tired old cliche but first impressions count, knock em dead Chuff

well i will be suited and booted, have reluctantly cut my hair off and had a shave and have even given the car a clean today at work as they asked for my reg number etc.

and i only do man shakes, but then I have got shovels for hands

I have interviewed a few people in my time... although mostly crappy manual jobs that I didnt want to do myself, the most appealing trait in a person interviewed is willingness to listen, learn and enthusiasm.

I find that these 3 traits will get you a long way. The last thing I want to hear is that someone can do the job when I havent even clearly told them what the job consists of.

All questions about the job would show me you have most of these points covered. hth

good points, I have my little statement, that I would never ask a member of my staff to do something that I wouldnt be willing to do myself. Stood me well in the RAF,

Cheers all, just gotta keep some food inside me tonight now, nerves really are summat I havent had to worry about before, but they do say life begins at 40

You could try herbal alternatives to calm your nerves?

'Ok Mr Chef, we have everything we need from you and are more than happy to offer you the job. Just a few things to clear up, firstly sign this and initial here and then we require you to urinate in this cup to ensure you comply to the companys drug and alcohol policy...'

   :lipsrsealed:
