BBS RX11 and Spacer advice
« on: 31 January 2012, 18:35 »
Once again if i can bathe in your pool of knowledge.....

I bought my anni and the 7.5inch BBS RXII's were shot to bits so i thought i was clever and sourced some 6.5inch RXII's off a Bora. Now obviously i'm an inch down already and the alloys are tucked up in the arches and i want some spacers to push them out, but i remember the old ones didn't fill the arches well either.

I could just do with someone who knows what they are talking about who is maybe running BBS RXII's with spacers to advise me what the best size to get is, so i get it right first time and the alloys are more flush with the arch.

Cheers guys.

simplest thing in the world to work out tbh mate. go outside with a tape measure and measure how much further you want the wheels to sit.
might be worth getting like a spirit level to hold verticly off the arch so you have something to measure too. take off a few mm to be safe

Well, Anni wheels are 7.0 not 7.5 wide.
Mk4/Bora are 6.5...so you are 12mm down on width, 6mm less per side.
Mk4/bora run ET42, Mk3 ET43...so you are a total of 5mm further in at the outermost point.

I run 10mm spacers on 7.0 wide RXIIs...so you should be able to run at least 15mm spacers with absolutely no issues, on 215 wide tyres...or, as said, 25mm spacers on 195 wide tyres.

Reducing my Golf count by the week....
..but gaining motorcycles.
