meant to add, been looking for signs off oil smears etc fr signs of leakage and have noticed a small amount of oil has built up at the bottom of the TIP just before it attaches to the turbo, could this be a leak

i think you will only see a oily boost pipe on the boost side not before the turbo, i could be wrong. Thats a good way of finding boost leaks.

You got any fault codes.

not got diagnostics, might go to halfords n get a cheap 1, bought an ebay version of vag com but its not worth  a dam :(

another note, when installing my new tip, i had to mess about with the bottom outlet on the tip, (the bit that should have a nipple on it for a hose), i fabricated a makeshift nipple, how important is that hose, i believe its to do with the PCV or something

bet its not a boost leak. If it was fine then running sh!t. Go for common faults ie: ign amp , maf (bet its not that). Agu are mint , tighten all boost pipes , get fault code reader. But if you think its in limp mode , got to say its your ign amp. Its common if you removed it .Trust me. But there £60. :sad:
