They'll be no mountain biking for me for a while. Had my kona robbed from work this week!

Wasn't very happy to say the least. I'm off this week too and part of the plan was to go around llandegla.

That sucks! Any news on it, no chance of it being recovered? Have you looked at a replacement?

No news on it yet. I doubt I will get it back now. Have put a claim in at work but I have it covered on my house insurance too.

Have been looking at a cube ams 150. I'm after a full sus and that would sure do the job. Have you got any suggestions? Too end of budget would be about £2200

The cube's are always great value, but you could get a serious bit of 2nd hand kit for £2200!

The advantage with the new ones is being able to buy them with 0% apr. wouldn't be able to afford one outright for ages.

Have got mine down to 30.4lb now with the help of some easton haven wheels, and a bargain £14 wtb silverado ti saddle  Giving up on the weight chasing now, its too expensive!

And how it looked at the end of last weekend in Afan, muddy!

Also, got my warranty mondraker frame through last week at long last. Onto eBay you go! only took 6 months to get here

I've still got my old Marin but need to sort the gears out on it. Will do for work once they improve facilities for keeping them

So... who's on strava? We could set up an off-road/road challenge each month

They've just opened up some mountain bikes routes and a skills centre literally a stones throw from my house!

http://claytonvaletrails.org/info.php

I'll definitely be checking this out as it's about a 3 minute ride away!

Quote
The 10.5km trail in the Clayton Vale, on the doorstep of the National Cycling Centre in East Manchester will be opened free to the public but will also support the development of young up and coming riders such as British Cycling Academy Programme rider, Grant Ferguson, who was at the launch.

He said: “The trails themselves have a lot to offer both beginners and experienced riders alike, and I’m sure both myself and my team-mates will be making use of them as much as possible!”

The centre is also the first course in the country to offer trails developed for accessible bikes used by disabled riders. The most difficult trail is the Urban Red Rock-it, with numerous technical features.
