SRAM powerlinks?
How do I know which ones I need as I noticed they come as 7spd, 8spd, 9spd etc... MY rear cassette is 6 speed. Also am I better off replace the entire chain now or not?

I'm the same with replacement. I only use the powerlinks to get me out of trouble on the trail

Is it me that thinks I'd pretty easily get down that hill? Done DH plenty of times with only a handful of falls.
I've just got into road cycling, always had a MTB before. First impressions I prefer the MTB for fun but nothing beats looking down to your trip computer and noticing you've already racked up a load of kilometres. Just bought a Viking Giro D'Italia (not a great bike) but already bought some Vittoria Rubino pro tyres and my dad is giving me some Q-Rings as a present, as he gets them extremely cheap. Hopefully will have a decent road bike by the end of the year

when your in a race trying to go as fast as you can on mud and on a xc bike with smaller not as grippy tyres its hard.
Most the people who made it down that had F/S bikes with wider tyres so its a lot easier.
Plus you got the crowd trying to put you off.
Anyone see any pics from Mountain Mayhem last weekend?
