MOT time 2moz :(
« on: 03 November 2011, 17:22 »
I always get nervous before mot time, ive done all the pre-checks and tightened the handbrake today got the 2 clicks back, also given it a nice clean up inside,

seems to be that every year they advise a wheel bearing needs doing but when i took it to get them done they said they replaced them but actually just needed a nip up.

i'll report back tomorrow with details

Booked mine for 1pm on Monday today. Fingers crossed it flies through, and they dont comment on my hammer and underseal effort on the o/s sill. Apart from that, an advisory on 'slight freeplay in steering column top mount' should be it...................I hope.  :undecided:

Mine is in Feb, last one Alan didn't even get an advisory. But it's always "rear suspension arm corroded" with me. Every car I've had it seems haha

well just dropped her off,

adjustment's from inside the car , remove the rear ash tray and you'll find two screws holding the plastic
handbrake cover on, remove cover and pull off, youll see the adjusting srcrews now.
from memory use a 10mm spanner to losen off nut that sits agaisnt the other adjuster nut and there you go very
easy.

make sure when youve adjusted the cables they pull even on both sides, also note: dont do it so tight
it snaps your cable/s when you pull up on the handbrake (or you'll be back on here giving me grief LOL)

think with mk3's you should be getting 2 clicks or 3 at the max.

very early for me today so hope this makes sense
